Playing Back Clips

Playback
Before you start playback, set the playback frequency, for-
mat, and other settings in the menu. (➝ Setup Menu "SYSTEM
MODE" page 106)

Press the [PLAY]
Playback begins. Clips play back in the order they were
recorded.
Note:
• Pressing the [REW]
button rewinds playback, while pressing the [FF]
fast forwards playback.
• When clips in different compression formats are played
back, the video and audio between clips may be distorted.
• When clips with the same video format but different audio bit
rates are played back continuously, the audio between clips
will be muted.

Press the [STOP]
Playback stops and the input video (EE) is displayed.
Adjusting the playback audio levels
Follow the procedure below to change the playback levels.
1.
Press the [AUDIO LEVEL-PB] button.
The playback volume appears.

Press the up or down cursor button.
The levels of all channels can be adjusted.
3.
Use the left or right cursor button to select an audio
channel.
The selected channel number flashes. Each of the chan-
nels can be adjusted.
4.
After adjustment is finished, press the [AUDIO
LEVEL - PB] button or [EXIT] button.
The setting values are saved and the displayed informa-
tion disappears.
Note:
• The setting values do not change when you turn off the pow-
er.
• If you press the [RESET] button during the changing of the
audio levels, the level of the selected channel is restored to
the default value.

Variable speed playback
The playback speed can be varied to search for a scene.

Press the left or right cursor button during playback
or STILL.
Playback changes to high-speed or slow and indicated as
SHTL +/– speed.

Press the left or right cursor button to change play-
back speed.
• The playback speed changes each time the buttons are
pressed. Maximum playback speed depends on the value
set by the REC/PB - REC/PB SETUP - SHUTTLE MAX menu
setting (➝ Setting Menu "REC/PB SETUP" - "SHUTTLE
MAX" page 91).
• Audio is not played back at speeds faster than 10 times nor-
mal speed.
• The right cursor button changes the speed in forward direc-
tion and the left cursor button changes the speed in back-
ward direction.
• Press the [STILL/PAUSE] button or [SET] button to pause
playback. To return to normal playback, press the [PLAY]
button.

• The pulldown sequence may not be uniform for variable
speed playback of native recorded (including x1 speed)
video.
• Not all of the frames of a clip recorded in AVC-G format will
be played back during reverse playback and fast playback.
