1.2.4. Tip Tanks

First, the centerline is determined/marked, then the point at the greatest diameter (see
photos).
In the next step, a connector is fitted in the
wiring between the wing and tank.

The wingtip tanks are factory ready for final
installation with a single 3mm (M3) screw.
The aluminum mounting tube is pre-threaded.
For those wishing a scale lighting system, the
conversion is fairly easy. As there are
numerous lighting systems are on the market,
we will illustrate, as an example, a position-
light installation in a customer aircraft.
A clearance hole is drilled for the heat sink
and wiring, based on the size of the lighting
unit.
