Working With Files

To Export a File

The Digital VCR application is not needed during the export process. It can be left running or
placed in Standby mode.
The File Exporter gives you the option of creating files that are optimized to a specific size.
This is ideal if you are planning to backup shows onto CD-ROM disks or other media. If you do
not plan to save exported shows to transportable media, export the show as a single file.

Running the File Exporter

The File Exporter application can be launched by selecting it from the Start Menu or by double-
clicking the application icon (dvrexport.exe) in the Digital VCR directory. (As mentioned
above, the default location is C:\Program Files\Creative\VB Digital VCR\File Exporter)
Exporting can be broken down into three simple steps–

Adding Shows to the Export List

Shows can be added to the export list using either drag-and-drop or conventional directory
navigation. Each method is described below.

Via drag-and-drop

To add a file to the export list using drag-and-drop:
1. Launch the File Exporter application.
2. The main window of the File Exporter opens.
