Introduction
This section describes in detail the options and user preferences that are part of the Setup
Wizard. You must complete all the steps and save the preference settings before you can use
your Video Blaster Digital VCR. Remember that you can change any of your initial settings
later by running the Setup Wizard again.
Pressing the ([LW button on any of the pages will allow you to exit the Setup Wizard. You will
be prompted with a warning message if you do so because you have not saved any user set-
tings at this point. You can choose to exit without saving your changes or return to the Setup
Wizard to continue.
Running the Setup Wizard
The Video Blaster Digital VCR Setup Wizard is an automated utility program designed specifi-
cally for the Video Blaster Digital VCR card. It will assist you in choosing record/playback
options and setting user preferences.
Before You Run the Setup Wizard
Before starting the Setup Wizard, you need to install the Video Blaster Digital VCR card, con-
nect the Infrared Receiver, and connect your television source (satellite, cable, antenna, etc.)
to the card. Refer to the sections on Hardware Installation (page 11) and Software Installation
(page 19) if you have not yet completed these steps.
How to Start the Setup Wizard
The Setup Wizard is used under two sets of circumstances–during a new installation and when
you are updating your settings and preferences.
New Installation
When installing the Video Blaster Digital VCR for the first time, the Setup Wizard will launch
automatically as part of the software installation process when you run the SETUP.EXE
installer.
Existing Installation
A copy of the Setup Wizard is placed in the Video Blaster Digital VCR directory so that you can
make changes to your preference settings later. To open the Setup Wizard you can select it
