Watching a Prerecorded Show During Commercials
While watching a live TV program you can switch to a prerecorded show during commercials or
other sections of a show you don't want to watch. To do this you have to select a prerecorded
show from your library first. Then, while watching the live TV signal, pressing the
will switch to the prerecorded program.
Follow these steps:
1. From the Main Menu, press 5HFRUGHG 6KRZV.
2. Choose a prerecorded show from your library by selecting it from the list.

show is still available to be watched.

You can switch back and forth as often as you like. With Time Shifting enabled, you can rewind
the live TV show in case you miss something while watching the prerecorded program.
Program Thumbnails
Thumbnails are graphic icons created at regular intervals as markers, similar to a bookmark in
a browser. They are created automatically when you pause a live TV broadcast. They show
you what has been happening since you paused the program that you were watching.
Thumbnails are also available for programs recorded to disk. They serve as an easy naviga-
tional aid. To view the Thumbnails for a recorded program, simply press the
screen will fill with Thumbnail icons, with the first one representing the point at which you
paused the program. Subsequent icons represent portions of the show that are still unwatched.
The total length of the recorded program determines the spacing of the Thumbnails.
The screen can hold up to sixty-four Thumbnails.
To use the Thumbnails as a navigational aid:
1. Use the Left/Right arrows to move within a row, or

Bookmarks
Bookmarks are a set of custom markers that can be used to store specific locations within a
recorded file. Unlike the Thumbnails described above, Bookmarks are created by the user at
any time location. Bookmarks are stored with the program. Each Bookmark is shown with a pic-
ture icon from the show, a time reference, and a description. Bookmarks can be added,
deleted, named, and renamed from this window. Bookmarks are automatically sorted in chro-
nological order as they are created.
