If 1 or 2 key is pressed on the previous
screen, the screen shown at left appears,
prompting you to select the bar code type.
Select a desired bar code type by pressing
the corresponding numerical key.
If 1 key is pressed, the screen shifts to the
next field setting screen.
If 5 or 6 key is pressed, the screen skips
to another screen for designating the mini-
mum number of digits for an ID code field.
If 2 , 3 , 4 , or 7 key is pressed on the
previous screen, the screen shown at left
appears, prompting you to select whether
the check digit should be enabled or disa-
bled.
To enable it, press 1 key; to disable it,
press 2 key.
Designate the minimum number of digits
for an ID-code field by using the numerical
keys. Then, press ENT key.
When you have selected the EAN bar
code for ID entry, the number of dig-
its for an ID code field is automati-
cally set to 13.
When you have selected the MULTI-
code reading and you are to read EAN-
13 or UPC-A, it is necessary to set the
number of digits to at least 13.
Designate the maximum number of digits
for an ID-code field by using the numerical
keys. Then, press ENT key. This com-
pletes setting the ID-related conditions.
Once the maximum number of digits
is registered, any data exceeding it can-
not be entered in both keypad entry
and bar code entry.
