The router may be blocking the
audio.
There is excessive data traffic on

Troubleshooting Your SoundPoint IP 200W Phones
Corrective Action
Verify power is correctly applied to the
SoundPoint IP 200W phone:
Check that the batteries are inserted
with the plus and minus ends facing
the correct way. Press and hold the
End Call key.
Verify the handset is not in powersave
mode:
Press any key.
Verify the batteries are operational:
Recharge the batteries.
Verify gateway is powered:
Plug gateway into a power outlet
(preferably a continuous power
outlet).
Verify handset is in range of the gateway:
Move the handset closer to the
gateway.
Corrective Action
Verify the router is not blocking audio:
Use port forwarding. Check your
router's user manual to see how to
configure port forwarding.
Verify there is not too much simultaneous
data traffic on your broadband connection:
Sign up for a Quality of Service (QoS)
agreement with your broadband
provider.
Order a connection with higher speed
from your broadband provider.
Verify your service provider's QoS is
based on a "best efforts" rather than a
guaranteed voice priority method:
Contact your network administrator or
service provider regarding ensured
voice prioritization across the network.
