By default, the phones are shipped with TFTP enabled as the provisioning
protocol. HTTP can also be used for downloading the firmware images to the
phone if you are working in a closed environment. You cannot select
unsupported protocols (HTTPS, for example). The boot server address can be
an IP address, fully qualified domain name (FQDN), or URL.
Initiation of the transport can be achieved using:

Configuration file download can be initiated from the handset user
interface by selecting Settings/System Settings/Restore Gateway/Yes.
This will force a reset of the SoundPoint IP 200W gateway after which the
base will request the configuration file from a preset location (a network
address stored in non-volatile memory).
Any active calls on the SoundPoint IP 200W are dropped if the gateway is reset. If
the Call light is lit on the gateway, there are active calls (see figure below).
You must set up the boot server and create configuration files for each
SoundPoint IP 200W gateway that you want to deploy.
Of the servers described in
combined Configuration and Firmware Update Server is described below. The
remainder have been disabled for this installation.
To set up the boot server:
1. Install boot server application or locate suitable existing server(s).
2. Create account and home directory.
3. Copy all files from the IP200W_distribution.zip file to the phone home
directory.
Maintain the same folder hierarchy.
