9500PPC AS A SERVER
The mobile computer acts as a Server that provides services to another Bluetooth device.
For example, your computer is capable of the following tasks after having established a connection
with the mobile computer:
Connect to COM8 on the mobile computer for a serial link. (Serial Port on COM8)
Send a PIM item to the mobile computer. (OBEX Object Push service)
Send a file to the mobile computer. (FTP service)
Receive a PIM item from the mobile computer where Beam Contact is used.
Receive a file from the mobile computer where Beam File is used.
Note: A file or message received on the mobile computer will be stored in My Documents folder,
while a contact will be stored in the Contacts folder.
DISCOVERING BLUETOOTH SERVICES
You may discover the services by clicking My Bluetooth Places on the desktop of your computer.
Choose the following Bluetooth tasks: "Search for devices in range" or simply "View devices in
range". Click Entire Bluetooth Neighborhood and select the device name representing the
mobile computer. The services supported on the mobile computer will be displayed on the right
pane of the window.
Note: For ActiveSync operation, make sure the Bluetooth Serial Port service is provided on your
computer.
