Setting Up the Switch Unit
4-11
For more information about Duplex Mode, refer to
"Setting Up the Switch Ports"
on
page
4-12.
Oversize Frames Forward / Discard This field allows
you to specify whether the Switch forwards encap-
sulated Token Ring frames from 3Com's Token Ring
products. Set this field to Forward if the Switch is
connected to 3Com products which support Token
Ring encapsulation (for example, the SuperStack II
Switch 2000); otherwise set the field to Discard.
Token Ring encapsulation is not supported by the
ATM OC-3c Module. Consequently, the Oversize
Frames field is not displayed if an ATM OC-3c
Module is installed.
Default RMON Host/Matrix Enable / Disable This
field allows you to specify whether Hosts and Matrix
RMON sessions are defined on the Default VLAN.
The default setting for this field is Disable. For more
information about RMON sessions, refer to
"RMON
Features of the Switch"
on
page
5-25.
Plug-in Module Type This read-only field displays
the type of Plug-in Module fitted to the rear of the
unit, or displays Not Fitted.
Power Supply Internal / External This read-only
field displays External if the Switch is receiving
power from a SuperStack II Advanced RPS. In all
other cases, this field displays Internal.
