We can now connect the input AN-A
cable.
The shielded AN-A cable has a red
and white lead on one end – this is the
end for the RCA's.
The other end has the red signal wire
and the thicker ground wire - this is the
side that connects to the PHONO
board.
The RCA post with Black on it is the
LEFT signal - so you will want to
connect the red lead to the center of
the RCA post (signal) and the white
lead to the GND peg on the RCA post.
The LEFT input will connect to the
board's
(black/screen) pads.
The RIGHT input will connect to the
board's
(black/screen) pads.
With the PHONO Audio Inputs connected along with Phono
Filament and HT/GND, we can perform an audio test to see
if all is well on our Phono Board.
Install the tubes in the PHONO section - the 12Ax7 is the
input tube and the 12AU7 is the output tube!
Set up your CD player and play the PHONO Test Track into
your PHONO input on the back of the pre-amp.
You will want turn the ELMA selector knob all the way
counterclockwise to the left - this will select the phono input.
