RIDING TIPS
STARTING THE ENGINE
Before attempting to start the engine, make
sure:
•
The transmission is in neutral.
•
The engine stop switch is in the ""
position.
NOTE: This motorcycle is equipped with
interlock switches for the ignition circuit and
the starter circuit.
The engine can only be started if:
•
The transmission is in neutral and the
clutch is disengaged, or
•
The transmission is in gear, the side
stand is fully up and the clutch is disen-
gaged.
When the Engine is Cold:
1. Close the throttle completely and push
the electric starter button.
2. After the engine starts, let the engine run
until the engine sufficiently warms up.
When a Cold Engine is Hard to Start:
1. Open the throttle approximately
1/8 turn and push the electric starter but-
ton.
2. After the engine starts, let the engine run
until the engine sufficiently warms up.
When the Engine is Warm:
Close the throttle completely and push the
electric starter button.
When a Warm Engine is Hard to Start:
Open the throttle approximately 1/8 turn and
push the electric starter button.
