6.11 Care

6.11.1 Care Instructions

Do not allow sand or other particles to get into the product. They could degrade the wheel bearings and the
locking mechanism.
Use in saltwater is not permitted.

6.11.2 Detaching/Attaching the Padding (Multifunctional Seating Unit)

INFORMATION
The product can also be equipped with alternative seating systems. In this case, please observe the information in
the separate instructions for use for the seating system.
The padding can be removed for care and maintenance of the product:
1) Release the twist lock of the backrest pad behind the seat.
2) Unzip the backrest pad zipper (see Fig. 118) and remove the backrest pad.
3) Lift the seat cushion, pull it off the hook-and-loop fastener on the seat plate, (see Fig. 119) and remove.
4) Open the hook-and-loop/fleece fasteners of the lateral/frame/support pads and remove the pads.
5) Refasten the padding after carrying out the maintenance work.

6.11.3 Cleaning

1) Clean all frame components and plastic parts using mild detergents only.
2) Wash covers made of spacer fabric and microfibre at a maximum temperature of 40 °C. To do this, remove the
covers from the padding and wash the covers only.
INFORMATION: You can wash covers in the washing machine – but only in a laundry bag or pillow
case. However, wiping with a damp cloth is sufficient in most cases.
Important information on cleaning
Do not use any aggressive cleaners, solvents or hard brushes etc.

6.11.4 Disinfection

► Wipe all parts of the product with a disinfectant.
Important information about disinfecting
Water-based disinfectants should be used. Observe the usage information provided by the manufacturer.
Before disinfecting, clean the pads and handles.

7 Maintenance

The product bears the CE marking. The manufacturer hereby guarantees that this medical device as a whole con­
forms to the requirements of the European Directive for Medical Devices 93/42/EEC.
The function of the product should be checked before each use.
If defects are found, especially instability of the product or altered driving characteristics as well as problems
with the user's seating position or the stability of the seat, the product should not be used. The specialist deal­
er must be contacted promptly in order to correct these defects.
This also applies if loose, worn, bent or damaged components are identified.
