View Current Security Features on Phone
View the security features of the Cisco IP Phone 7821, 7841, and 7861.

Procedure
Step 1 Press Applications.
Step 2 Select Admin Settings > Security Setup.
Most security features are available only if a certificate trust list (CTL) is installed on the phone. For more
information about the CTL, see "Configuring the Cisco CTL Client" chapter in Cisco Unified Communications
Manager Security Guide.

View Security Profiles

All Cisco IP Phones that support Cisco Unified Communications Manager use a security profile, which defines
whether the phone is nonsecure, authenticated, or encrypted. For information about configuring the security
profile and applying the profile to the phone, see Cisco Unified Communications Manager Security Guide.
Procedure
Look at the Security Mode setting in the Security Configuration menu.

Description
Signed binary files (with the extension .sgn) prevent tampering with the
firmware image before it is loaded on a phone. Tampering with the image
causes a phone to fail the authentication process and reject the new image.
