3.3.2 Communications Parameters

In System Mode and user programs written in BHT-BASIC, you may set the communications
parameters listed below.
Communications Port
Transmission Speed
Character Length
Vertical Parity
Stop Bit Length
In System Mode
Refer to Chapter 2, Section 2.5.3, [4.5], "Setting the communications environments."
In BHT-BASIC
To set the transmission speed, character length, vertical parity, and stop bit length (To set the
transmission speed only for the IrDA interface), use the OPEN "COM:" statement in BHT-BASIC.

OPEN "COM2: ... "
Note that it is impossible to open both the IrDA and direct-connect interface ports concurrently.
Through the interface port opened by the OPEN "COM:" statement, the XFILE statement transmits a
designated file.

Opens the interface port selected in System Mode.
Opens the IrDA interface port for data transmission, irrespective of the setting in
System Mode.
Opens the direct-connect interface port for data transmission, irrespective of the
setting in System Mode.
