Problem
The coarse focus knob
is heavy in rotation.
The stage falls on its
own weight and the
image goes out of focus.

raised by the coarse
focus knob.

Electrical System Problems

Problem
The lamp does not light
even though the power
switch is turned on.
The lamp flickers, or its
brightness is unstable.
Cause
The coarse torque adjustment ring is
tightened too much.
The coarse focus stopper ring is locked
to restrict the upper limit.
The coarse torque adjustment ring is
loosened too much.
The coarse focus stopper ring is locked
at the lower limit.
Cause
The power supply is not plugged in.
The power cord is not connected to the
microscope main body.
The cable of the lamp house is not
connected to the connector on the
microscope.
No lamp is attached.
The lamp is blown.
A wrong lamp is used.
The lamp is about to blow.
The power cable or the cable of the
lamp house is not connected securely.
The lamp is not securely inserted into
the socket.
The lamp house is not connected
securely.
V. Troubleshooting
Countermeasure
Loosen the torque adjustment ring
adequately.
Turn the coarse focus stopper ring to
release the stopper function.
Tighten the torque adjustment ring
adequately.
Turn the coarse focus stopper ring to
release the stopper function.
Countermeasure
Plug the power cord into a wall outlet.
Connect the power cord.
Connect the cable of the lamp house.
Attach a lamp.

Replace the lamp with a new one. (P.52)
