3. Voltage
• Connect the pocket tester (DC 20 V) to the
speedometer assembly coupler (wire har-
ness side) as shown.
Positive tester probe → brown 1
Negative tester probe → light green 2

• Set the main switch to "ON".
• Measure the voltage (DC 12 V) of brown
1 and light green 2 at the speedometer
assembly coupler (wire harness side).
• Is the voltage within specification?
YES
This circuit is OK.

6. The fuel level indicator light fails to come
on.
1. Fuel level indicator light LED
• Check the LED of the fuel level indicator
light.
Refer to "CHECKING THE BULBS AND
BULB SOCKETS".
• Are the fuel level indicator light LED OK?
YES
2. Fuel pump (fuel sender)
• Drain the fuel from the fuel tank and
remove the fuel pump from the sub fuel
tank.
• Disconnect the fuel pump coupler from the
fuel pump.
• Connect the pocket tester (Ω × 1) to the
fuel pump terminal as shown.
Positive tester probe → green 1
Negative tester probe → black 2

• Measure the fuel sender resistance.
Fuel sender resistance
900 ~ 2,050 Ω at 20 °C (68 °F)
• Is the fuel sender OK?
YES

NO
Replace the speed-
ometer assembly.
