ADJUSTING THE CLUTCH CABLE FREE PLAY

ADJUSTING THE CLUTCH CABLE FREE
PLAY
1. Check:
• clutch cable free play a
Out of specification → Adjust.
Clutch cable free play (at the end
of the clutch lever)
10 ~ 15 mm (0.39 ~ 0.59 in)
2. Adjust:
• clutch cable free play

Handlebar side
a. Pull the boot 1 off.
b. Loosen the locknut 2.
c. Turn the adjusting bolt 3 in direction a or
b until the specified clutch cable free play
is obtained.
Direction a
Direction b
d. Tighten the locknut.
NOTE:
_
If the specified clutch cable free play cannot be
obtained on the handlebar side of the cable,
use the adjusting nut on the engine side.
e. Pull the boot 1 in.
Engine side
a. Loosen the locknut 4.
b. Turn the adjusting bolt 5 in direction c or
d until the specified clutch cable free play
is obtained.

c. Tighten the locknut.
