In case of Emergency

Hazard Warning Indicator

The hazard warning indicator switch is
located on the central bezel switch bank.
Press the switch to turn ON the hazard
warning indicators. When the hazard
warning indicator switch is activated, all
directional turn signals will flash to warn
oncoming traffic. This is an emergency
warning system and should be used only
when there is an emergency. Use it when
your vehicle is disabled and is creating a
safety hazard for other motorists. Hazard
warning indicator will work in all positions
of the ignition key and even when the
vehicle is fully locked.

NOTICE
With extende d use, the Hazard
Warning indicator may drain your
vehicle battery.

If the Vehicle does not Start

Before making these checks, make sure
you have followed the correct starting
procedure and that you have sufficient
fuel.
If the engine is not cranking or is cranking
too slowly / intermittently:
1. Be sure the shift lever is in N (neutral
position) and apply the hand brake
2. Check the battery condition and
terminals. If any loose connection is
found, tighten it and clean.
3. Check battery charge condition.

4. In case of discharged battery, do not
push or pull the vehicle to start it.
Follow the Jump Starting instructions
given later in this section.
IN CASE OF EMERGENCY

If the vehicle Overheats

When the engine temperature bar graph
starts blinking in red it means the coolant
temperature is high and the engine also
may get overheated.
Upon the engine getting overheated, the
Engine Management System reduces
engine torque substantially and even may
turn OFF the engine; It is dangerous to
continue driving when the engine has
overheated. You need to first cool the
engine down before starting to drive
again.
Follow the below instructions to cool the
engine down:
Progressively reduce the vehicle
speed and bring the vehicle to a stop
at the side of the road
Turn
ON
the
hazard
indicators
Engage the parking brake
Turn OFF the AC
Wait till engine coolant temperature
drops sufficiently such that the
e n g i n e t e m p e r a t u r e b a r g r a p h
moves into the blue zone.
