DRIVING AND OPERATION

Starting the Vehicle

1. Apply parking brake, insert the key
and fasten the seat belt
2. Depress the clutch pedal fully and
place the gearshift lever in neutral
position
3. Turn ignition ON The glow plug
indicator will illuminate. Ensure all
warn ing lig hts and gau ges a r e
functioning properly before starting
the engine
4. Turn the ignition key to the START
position and release it when the
engine starts
5. After the engine has started, allow
the engine to run for few seconds
prior to placing the vehicle in gear.
The starter should not be operated
for more than 15 seconds at a time.
Wait for 15-30 seconds between
starting attempts to protect the
starter from overheating

CAUTION
If the engine fails to start, try to
restart the engine after few minutes.
Continuous cranking will cause
damage to the starter motor. If the
engine still fails to start, contact an
Authorised Mahindra Dealer for
assistance.
NOTICE
Before driving it is important to fully
un de rs ta nd th e fun c t i o n o f t he
instruments and warning indicators.

Limp Home Mode

Limp home mode is an emergency
s i t u a t i o n d e c l a r e d b y t h e e n g i n e
management system. In this mode, the
engine management system will revert to
basic minimum requirement (fuel quantity
/ injection timings) to aid the driver to
bring the vehicle back to the nearest
workshop or a safe place. Needless to
say the driveability and fuel consumption
will be greatly affected.
Driving the vehicle to an Authorised
Mahindra Dealer in the Limp home Mode:
• Follow the engine starting instruc-
tions as mentioned in the previous
page
• During normal conditions, the engine
check lamp illuminates and dies
down. This will take approximately 5
seconds
• If the lamp on the instrument panel
blinks, it means your vehicle has
shifted to the limp home mode
• In the limp home mode, the engine
speed fluctuates between 1000 to
1200 rpm and you will not be able to
use the accelerator control
• The limp home mode can be erased,
only after rectifying the problem

If the engine does not start or stalls
frequently, contact an Authorised
