Brake System

Your vehicle has power-assisted brakes.
Should power assist fail, you can stop by
applying greater force than normal to the
brake pedal. But the distance required to
stop will be greater than usual.

Parking Brake

To engage: Pull the parking brake lever
upwards as firmly as possible.
To release:
1. Firmly apply the foot brake
2. Place the gear shift lever in the N
(Neutral) position
3. While pulling up on the parking
brake lever slightly, push the release
b u t t o n a n d l o w e r t h e l e v e r
completely
4. Before driving, be sure that the brake
warning light goes out
If the parking brake does not release,
h a v e t h e s y s t e m c h e c k e d b y a n
Authorised Mahindra Dealer.
DRIVING AND OPERATION
WARNING
• Do not apply the handbrake while
the vehicle is in motion (except in
an emergency) as this could result
i n l o s s o f v e h i c l e c o n t r o l a n d
damage to the transmission.
• Do not rely on the handbrake to
operate effectively if the vehicle has
been subjected to immersion in
mud and water.

Brake System Failure

Check the brake warning light by turning
the ignition switch ON. This light will be
illuminated when the parking brake is
applied with the ignition switch in the start
or ON position. Before driving, be sure
the parking brake is fully released and the
brake warning light is turned OFF.
If the brake warning light remains ON
after the parking brake is released while
e n g i n e i s r u n n i n g , t h e r e m a y b e a
malfunction in the brake system.
