Manual Transmission

Yo u r v e h i c l e i s f i t t e d w i t h m a n u a l
transmission having six forward and one
r e v e r s e g e a r. T h i s s h i f t pa t t e r n i s
imprinted on the gearshift lever knob. The
transmission is fully synchronised in all
forward gears so shifting to either a
h i g h e r o r a l o w e r g e a r i s e a s i l y
accomplished. Press the clutch pedal
down fully while shifting, and then release
it slowly.

NOTICE
T h e c u r r e n t g e a r p o s i t i o n i s
indicated in the instrument cluster to
easily identify the position of the
gear. It is applicable only when the
ignition key is in ON position.

DRIVING AND OPERATION
CAUTION
• Do not rest your foot on the clutch
pedal while driving. This may cause
clutch damage
• Fully depress the clutch pedal
b e f o r e
s h i f t i n g
t o
transmission damage
• When the vehicle is brought to a
stop with the engine running, shift
to N (neutral position) and release
the clutch pedal with the foot brake
applied
To change gears, or when upshifting or
downshifting, depress the clutch pedal
fully, shift to the appropriate gear, then
release the clutch slowly and smoothly. To
e n s u r e s m o o t h g e a r c h a n g e , f u l l y
depress the clutch pedal before operating
the gear shift lever. If the clutch pedal is
not fully depressed before the gear is
shifted, gear rattling noise may be heard.
Transmission damage could occur. Start
the vehicle in 1st gear and shift to 2nd,
3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th gear in sequence
according to the vehicle speed.
