oil pres-
sure
switch
at the lelt
rear corner of
the cylinder
head.
WARNING
-
Fuel may
be expel/ed under
pressure.
Do
not
smoke or work

heaters

other lire
hazards.
Keep
a
fire
extinguisher
handy.
Before
disconnect-
ing fuel hoses. wrap
a
cloth around
fuel hoses to
ab-
sorb
any teaking
fuet.
Plug aI/
open fuel lines.

nuts Irom the
fuel injection wiring
harness
bracket.

Lilt
the
bracket
and harness off and
set it
aside.

the
large hose from the brake system vacuum
booster.

the opening in the vacuum booster.

Disconnect the tank venting
hose from
the
charcoal
cannister
on the left
fender.

the starter
motor
and the alternator. See

Working beneath the intake
manifold

disconnect
the
electrical
connectors for
the oxygen sens
or.
the
oil level
sensor,
and
the
evaporative
purge
valve.

under
the
car,
remove the
nuts
and
ground
strap from the
engine
mounts.

Label and then
remove the fuel supply
line and
the fuel
return
line.

an engine lifting
device.
using
the front
and rear
lifting
points.
Carefully raise the engine out of Ihe
car,
checking
for any
wiring,
fuel
lines,
or
mechanical
parts
that
might become
snagged
as the engine is
removed.

Installation
is the reverse
of
removal. Engine
mount
tighten-
ing torques
are
listed
below.
Check
that the
guide
pins
in
the
engine
mounts correctly engage the alignment
holes
in
the
subframe as
the
engine is
lowered
into
place.
Adjust
the tension of all
V-belts. Change the engine oil
and
filter
and
check
all
other
fluid levels

Refill
the cooling system
as described
in
170 Radi-
ator and
Cooling
System.
Using
new
gaskets. install the
front
exhaust pipe as
described
in
180 Exhaust
System.
