tightening

compress

coupling.

the rear
section rest
on the luettank

nection
line.

Remove driveshaft.
Bend
driveshalt
down at
center
bearing.
and
then pull
it
oH at
front.
If
necessary.
slide
driveshalt
together
at
splined
coupling.
NOTE
-
Do not pUll
driveshalt
sections
apart.
On
models with
a
vibration
damper.
the damp
er
can
be remo ved Irom the
transmission
lIange
by
turning it
about 60
'
and
pulling
it
over the
lIange.

If
the
splined
coupling is to be
cleaned
or
if
the
rubber
bush-
ing behind the clamping sleeve
is being
replaced.
mark
the
two sections
of
the
driveshaft before
separating.
Lubricate the
splines
with
molybd
enum disulfide grease
(Molykote Long-
term 2
~
or
equivalent)
before reasse
mbly.
Inspect the
flange
bolt
mounting holes
and
replace
any worn
components.
