through-bolt
attaching
the
control arm to
the
cross-
member.

thread
bores. bolts.
nuts
and mating
sur-
faces
are clean
.

Install the bushing-end
of
the control
arm to
the
cross-
member.
using
washers on both
sides
of the bolt and
a
new self-locking nut. Do not tighten the nut at
this
lime.
8.
Install
the
control
arm ball
joint to
the steering arm
us-
ing a new
self-locking
nut.
Tightening Torques
Control
arm
ball joint to
steering
arm
93 Nm (68
ft-Ib)
9.
Install the
steering arm
to
the
strut.
making sure the
mating notch
is
aligned.

Use
locking compound
(Loctite 270

bolts
and
tighten.

loaded
position

ground

the control arm
bushing
through-bolt.

Control
arm
bushings
should always
be
replaced
in
pairs.

control

aluminum construction

steef construction.
On cars

aluminum
control arms
.
the
entire control
arm
must
be replaced
if the bushing
is
worn.
On cars wltll
steel
control
arms.
the bushings are available as

placemen
t
parts.
