Recording a Pattern with the Controller

Now that you have chosen the Grid, let's get going with the Pattern, starting with some
drums!
Recording live
First, lets record some beats with the pads: press the
ton ( ) to enable Record mode. Now tap the pads you want to record and listen to what
REC
happens. The Metronome will help you to keep the time when recording in real-time. To
activate the Metronome, hold down

SHIFT
the MASCHINE controller's
quantized according to the selected Grid.

again. If you want to quantize your recording afterwards, hold
PLAY
button and press pad 5 (Quantize). Your pattern will be
