Advantage of the TAMUZ AAC Technology

First; The standard organisations defines different color spaces for the television systems.
This color spaces mostly didn't correspond with the color space of the specific LCD panel. They me
be less or more then the so called reference color spaces.
Second; the chain [TV camera – production system – monitor] should reproduce the covered scenery
linear without any degradation in the individual steps of luminance and chrominance. Regarding to the
history to television systems, camera signals are processed with a gamma of 0.45, which shows an e-
function curve in a XY-diagram for luminance. To compensate this curve, monitors using the oposite
gamma of 2.2, to display the signal linearly.
But this is theory only, real life shows non-linear TFT panel gamma curves. This regards to internal
programmed gamma functions, the backlight system and more. To compensate all this, the AAC func-
tion measures and calculates a correct gamma. For measuring a probe is necessary to be connected
to the monitor. Recommended is the probe PT 5639-T, made by DK Technology.

The measuring probe get it's power supplied over the monitor. No external power supplies are ne-
cessary. The default Gamma LUT can be adapted to possible ageing conditional changes of the back-
light.
