Event Configuration
The Event Configuration allows you to select SMTP events. When selected events
occur, the system will send out the log information or alerts. Per port log and SMTP
events can also be selected. The four event types are listed below. Before you can
select an event type, the Syslog Client Mode (Email Alert on the SMTP Configuration
Tab) must be enabled.
Device cold start – the system will produce a log event when the device executes a
cold start action.
Device warm start – the system will produce a log event when the device executes a
warm start.
Authentication Failure – the system will produce a log event when the SNMP
authentication fails.
X-ring topology change - – the system will produce a log event when the X-ring
topology changes.
Port Event Selection – The three choices for per port events and per port SMTP
events are listed below. Before you can select an event type, the Syslog Client
Mode (Email Alert on the SMTP Configuration tab) must be enabled.
indicates that no event is selected.
Link Up - the system will produce a log message when port connection is up only.
Link Down - the system will produce a log message when port connection is down
only.
Link Up & Link Down - the system will produce a log message when port connection
is up and down.
