Changing recording information display

For switching between different monitor displays, such as Histograms.
Press the [DISP.] button to change the display

Return to the "Recording information" display by pressing the shutter release button halfway.

During Playback Zoom, Motion Picture Playback, Slide Show:
You can only turn the display on and off.
During menu display, Multi Playback or Calendar Playback:
The display cannot be changed.
Histogram
Displays the distribution of brightness in the picture
– e.g. if the graph peaks at the right, this means
there are several bright areas in the picture (Guide).
A peak in the center represents correct brightness
(correct exposure). This can be used as a reference for
exposure compensation, etc. (→71)
• The histogram at the time of recording is different than the one in playback and
it is displayed in orange, when recording with flash or in dark locations. Also, the
histogram may differ from those made with image editing software.
