5.3.7 Bi-Directional Adjustment

This adjustment is to correct differences in printing positions, which is caused by
slippage of printing timing in right and left directions during the Bi-directional
printing. Print the check pattern of the adjustment program and write the corrected
value in the EEPROM. The following is the adjustment procedure.

Replacing or removing the CR Motor

Replacing or removing the Timing Belt

Replacing the Printer Mechanism

Replacing the MAIN Board

When performing this adjustment, use of super fine paper is

recommended.
1. From the adjustment program main menu, select "Bi-Directional adjustment". The
following screen appears.

2. Select "Print the Bi-D adjustment pattern" and click "OK". The following screen
appears and the Bi-D adjustment pattern will be printed.

3. The central lines of the print pattern show the current adjustment value. Check the
central lines of the print pattern. If all three lines are aligned, the adjustment is not
required. If the central three lines are not aligned, you have to input the appropriate
value. The following steps are the adjustment procedure.
