Remote Control Ports
The FOX DA8 Plus has two ports that can be connected to a host device such as a computer
running the Extron DataViewer utility or the HyperTerminal utility, an RS-232 capable PDA, or
a control system. These ports make remote control of the DA possible. The ports are:

FOX Extenders Program
The rear panel RS-232 port — This is a 3-pin captive screw connector
"Installation and Operation" section). The protocol for this port is as follows:

9600 baud

1 stop bit
The front panel Config(uration) port — This mini USB B port and the DataViewer
utility (version 2.0 or newer)
NOTE:
Before you use the USB port for the first time, you need to install and
activate the USB driver on your computer. The simplest way to do this is
to install version 1.5 or newer of the FOX Extenders Program and then
run the Found New Hardware Wizard. See
