When you press the Join softkey from a connected call or from another

call, that call is automatically included in the conference call (if not
specifically selected).
Tips for using the Join feature:
A minimum of two calls must be selected.
•
You can connect up to 16 participants into one conference call.
•
The connection of two or more conference calls is not supported.
•
• All calls selected must be on the same line appearance when you initiate join
from your phone (except when you use Cisco IP Manager Assistant
(Cisco IPMA), which can select calls across line appearances).
If you use a shared line, you can add yourself to an established call by using the
Barge feature.
Your system administrator might assign you a shared line. Shared lines can be
applied to multiple phones or multiple parties can share a line.
• One party applies a shared line to multiple phones that are used—For
example, your shared line with extension 2230 applies to your desk phone and
your mobile phone. You can also log into a phone in your lab enabling the lab
phone to temporarily share your extension as well. In this case, an incoming
call to extension 2230 rings on your desk phone, lab phone and mobile phone.
You can use any of these phones to answer the call.
Multiple parties share a line—For example, you are a manager who shares a

line and extension number with your assistant. An incoming call to the
extension rings on both phones. If your assistant answers the call, you can use
a shared line feature called Barge to add yourself to the connected call.
