The MIDI Messages are sent using a second, virtual MIDI port. The ap-
plication you want to control remotely with MIDI messages needs to be
connected to that virtual MIDI port – make sure that the target software's
MIDI interface is setup correctly.
All details about these key commands and MIDI messages can be found in describ-
ing the Mapping Application's Assign View.
7.3.5. Taking Stock
Now let's take a short break and try to sum up what we've just learned about the
remote control signal flow.
The AUDIO KONTROL 1 hardware transmits your commands in the form of hard-
ware actions.
These hardware actions are transformed into hardware events, depending on how
the actions should be interpreted (which Controllers are manipulated, on which
Layer, in which Mode...).
The Mapping Application receives these hardware events and maps them to the
desired application, in the form of key commands or a MIDI messages.Your ap-
plication executes the task as expected upon reception of the command. The next
section will describe how to configure all these tasks via a few mouse clicks within
the Mapping Application.
