PCI Bus Interface:
page 8-9). In order to operate as described in the Processor PMC specification, the software
must read this status to determine if the monarch features of the Pm8560 should be
enabled. If the monarch signal is low, then the software should perform PCI bus enumera-
tion and interrupt handling.
PCI bus enumeration should be performed in the standard manner except that the software
should not perform the enumeration until the PMC_EREADY signal has gone high. The
PMC_EREADY signal is connected to the CPLD and is read through the CPLD PCI Status reg-
ister (page 8-9).
In order to facilitate PCI bus interrupt handling, PMC interrupts A-D have been connected to
IRQ pins 3-6 (see
to generate interrupts to the MPC8560.

PCI INTERRUPTS

Interrupt sources are classified as originating from normal device operation or conditions
generated from an exception. Interrupt sources associated with normal device operations
are listed in

PMC CONNECTOR PIN ASSIGNMENTS

The Pm8560 has four 64-pin PMC connectors: P11, P12, P13, and P14. These connectors
support the PCI and serial interfaces. The pin arrangement for the 64-pin connector is
shown in
