Introduction

The controller applications of the Océ 9600 (Queue Manager, System Control
Panel and Settings Editor) are also delivered as remote versions.
This means that users can access one or more Océ 9600 systems from their own
computer. Anonymous users can view the status of both their jobs (Queue
Manager) and the entire system (System Control Panel). This way they can, for
instance, determine which queue is shortest and send their jobs there to avoid
lengthy delays.
From a management point of view, the availability of remote versions of the
applications is quite useful as well. They allow key operators and system
administrators to manage multiple Océ 9600 systems from a single location.
They can centrally monitor the system status and identify potential problems
without having to work at the controller itself.
The remote versions are almost identical to the local applications, which are
installed on the controller. The only difference is that an anonymous user can
only use the 'Abort' button of the Queue Manager and the 'Shut down' option
on the System Control Panel when he is working locally. The key operator,
system administrator and repro operator can access these functions remotely,
from their own PC.
