Replacing the Staple Cartridge

This section describes the procedure for replacing the staple cartridge.
Contact your local authorized Canon dealer to obtain replacement Staple
Cartridge.

When a Message Appears

When the staples in the staple cartridge run out, the message <1D NO STAPLES>
or <1D CHECK STAPLER> appears.
If the message <1D NO STAPLES> appears, skip the error by pressing [Online]. If
the error is skipped, printed paper may not be stapled, but you can continue
printing. After the printing finishes, replace the staple cartridge.

NOTE
The staple cartridge (Canon Genuine Cartridge) used in this printer contains 1,000
•
staples. The replacement staple cartridges are sold in a set of three.
Even if the message <1D NO STAPLES> or <1D CHECK STAPLER> appears, the
•
printed paper may be stapled. However, Canon cannot guarantee printer operation.
It is recommended that you replace the staple cartridge if the message <1D NO
STAPLES> or <1D CHECK STAPLER> appears.

Precautions on Replacing the Staple Cartridge

WARNING
There are some areas inside the printer which are subject to high-voltages.
When replacing the staple cartridge, do not allow necklaces, bracelets, or other
metal objects to touch the inside of the printer, as this may result in burns or
electrical shock.
