When Any Print Defect Appears
When any print defects such as those in "Print Defect Samples" (See p. 7-103)
appears, perform the following procedures in number order to solve the problem.
1. Clean the inside of the printer, then perform calibration. (See p. 7-80)
2. Print Test Chart 1. (See p. 7-99)
3. Print Test Chart 2. (See p. 7-101)
IMPORTANT
If any error message or service call is displayed in the display on the control panel, see
"Message List" (p. 7-32) and "Service Call Display" (p. 7-55).
Cleaning the Inside of the Printer
If any print defects as those in "Print Defect Samples" (p. 7-103) appears on the
printout result, clean the inside of the printer and perform calibration using the
following procedure.

Precautions on Cleaning the Inside of the Printer
WARNING
There are some areas inside the printer which are subject to high-voltages.
When removing jammed paper or when inspecting the inside of the printer, do
not allow necklaces, bracelets, or other metal objects to touch the inside of the
printer, as this may result in burns or electrical shock.
