Replacing the IL Cable

The IL (IOP Link) cable provides a direct Ethernet connection between the IOPs.
Caution: Before proceeding, make sure you are properly grounded using, for instance, a
wrist strap with an attached alligator clip that is connected to an appropriate
ground.
To replace an IL cable:
Step

Obtain a replacement IL cable.

Decide which IOP can be removed with the
least impact to your system, and shut down
that IOP, as described on

Detach the IL cable from IOP1 and IOP2.

Install the new IL cable by attaching it to
IOP1 and IOP2.

Reboot the IOP that you shut down in Step
step
2.

Using Endurance Manager:
• Reenable any faulted or disabled
components
• Make sure that any components affected
by this procedure are active or online.
