4. Wipe the feed roller (metal shaft roller) with a
cotton swab dipped in isopropyl alcohol. The feed
roller may not come clean in one wipe, so repeat
several times.
Caution:
Avoid getting alcohol on the platen. Wait until the alcohol
dries before printing.
5. Press the
ready/insert
roller and wipe the roller with a cotton swab until
clean.
6. Close the front cover after you have finished
cleaning the feed roller.
7. The printer will be ready for printing.

Cleaning the paper transport rollers

When the printer has been used for a lengthy period,
paper may start to feed incorrectly due to dust on the
paper transport rollers. If incorrect feeding occurs,
clean the paper transport rollers with water and a cotton
swab as follows:
Caution:
Do not use benzene, thinner, or any other volatile
materials, as they may damage the printer components.
Do not get the inside of the printer wet.
1. Turn off the printer.
When cleaning the feed rollers, turn off the
printer to initialize.
2. Remove any paper in the sheet feeder.
If there is paper on the sheet feeder, please
remove it.
3. Set the printer to the initial mode.
Turn on printer power and check that the power
lamp and ready lamp light up.
4. Open the front cover.
Press the front cover release button and lower the
front cover gently. The error lamp will blink.
