Opening front cover

1. Open the front cover to remove the inside
packing material.
2. To open the front cover (1), push the front cover
release button (2) to release the internal lock.
Gently lower the front cover with your hand.
3. Remove the piece of carriage packing material
(1) from inside the printer.
Caution:
Operating the printer without first removing the packing
materials may damage the printer.

Caution:
Do not remove the white pad (1) or the orange pad (2) at
the left end of the platen (3). They are there to clean the
print head. Removing them can cause the printer to
malfunction. The cleaning pad can be replaced when it
gets dirty. Do not touch the cover open sensor (4), which is
located on the left side of the printer.
