Enabling Data Encryption
To encrypt print data sent to the printer, you must use an IPP port on the printer.
When the printer's IPP port is disabled (the default is [Enable]), enable the port. Then, install
a print driver on your computer and set the output port to IPP.
The following describes how to install a print driver on your computer.
The procedure uses Windows XP as an example.

1.
From the Windows [Start] menu, select [Printers and Faxes].
2.
From [Printer Tasks], select [Add a printer].
3.
In the [Add Printer Wizard] window, click [Next].
4.
Select [A network printer, or a printer attached to another computer], and then click
[Next].
5.
Select [Connect to a printer on the Internet or on a home or office network], and then
enter the following URL into [URL]:
https://IP_Address/ipp/
(where IP_Address is the IP address of the printer).
Click [Next].
6.
Click [Have Disk].
7.
In the dialog box displayed, enter the path for the print driver.
Click [OK].
8.
Select the print driver, and then click [OK].
9.
Set whether to use this printer as the default printer by selecting [Yes] or [No], and
then click [Next].
10. Click [Finish] to finish the setting.
