Connecting a UPS to the Express5800/320Ma System

An APC Network Management Card EX (APC part number AP9617) on these UPS
models and PowerChute Network Shutdown (PCNS) on the Express5800/320Ma
system enable the system and the UPS to communicate over your network.

Connecting a UPS to the Express5800/320Ma System

1. On the Express5800/320Ma system, verify that the operating system is shut down,
and then power down the system.
2. Plug the UPS input power cord into an AC receptacle connected to utility power.
3. Connect an Ethernet cable to the UPS Ethernet port.
4. Turn on the UPS by pressing the ON switch.
5. Connect the A-side power cords from one or more Express5800/320Ma systems
directly to the UPS, or connect the A-side power distribution unit (PDU) to the UPS.
