Configuring Teams of Network Adapters

Configuring Teams of Network Adapters

Configure teams of Ethernet network adapters to increase the redundancy and
capacity of a network connection.
Before you configure the teams, attach the network adapters to the network.
Checklist: Configuring Ethernet Teams
For all adapters you plan to add to a team, make sure that the values for the
Advanced Settings in PROSet are identical.

Configuring Link Speed and Duplex Mode

By default, network adapters are configured to autonegotiate the best speed for the
connection. On a network that operates at 10 or 100 megabits per second (Mbps),
automatic settings can result in unreliable connections and inaccurate reporting of link
activity and duplex mode. For reliable operation, configure the link speed and duplex
mode for U575 Dual-Port Copper Gigabit Ethernet Adapters and embedded Ethernet
PCI adapters connected to networks that operate at 10 or 100 Mbps.
