Configuring the PCNS User Interface

If you see an error message, you can continue the installation, but you must enter
the server IP address manually in the UPS management card.
11. In the View Release Notes? message box, click Yes to view the release notes.
Otherwise, click No.
12. Click Finished to complete the installation.
13. Insert the Express5800/320Ma CD in the CD-ROM drive. The Express5800/320Ma
installation program typically starts to gather information about the system
automatically, and then displays a Readiness Test dialog box.
Click Cancel.
14. On the Windows task bar, click Start and then Run. Substituting the drive letter of
your CD-ROM drive for E, type the following command:
E:\PCNS_Support\PCNS_INSTALL.BAT
15. Click OK.
16. Enable the Do not turn off system power after a Windows system shutdown
has occurred setting:
a. On the Windows task bar, click Start and then Run.
b. To start the Group Policy editor, type the following command:
gpedit.msc
c. Click OK.
d. Expand Local Computer Policy, Computer Configuration, and
Administrative Templates, and then click System.
e. In the details pane, right-click Do not turn off system power after a Windows
system shutdown has occurred. Click Properties.
f. On the Setting tab, click Enabled to select it and then click OK.
Configuring the PCNS User Interface
1. Click Start, point to Programs, click PowerChute Network Shutdown, and then
click User Interface.
2. Log on to the user interface by entering the user name and password that you used
in step

3. Click Configure Events.
4. On the Configure Events page, click the button next to UPS: On Battery in the
Shutdown System column.
5. On the Configure Shutdown page, select the Yes, I want to shutdown the
system check box.
