Display configura-
Description
tion
not scaled for graphical 1-line; uses hidden lines
and rise/drop symbology
MEP Basic 2-Line
Shows all pipe components and equipment as
2-line, regardless of system definition configura-
tions for 1-line and graphical 1-line; hidden lines
and rise/drop symbology not used
Mechanical Pipe By
Shows all piping and equipment as 2-line, but
Size
can use system definition configuration to show
2-line, 1-line, or graphical 1-line, depending on
size; uses hidden lines and rise/drop symbology
MEP Schematic
Shows all piping as 1-line, and shows all equip-
ment as schematic symbols; uses hidden lines
and rise/drop symbology; graphical 1-line unavail-
able in this configuration
Mechanical
Shows all piping and equipment as 2-line, but
can use the system definition configuration to
show 2-line, 1-line, or graphical 1-line, depend-
ing on size. Hidden lines and rise/drop sym-
bology are used
You can
switch the current display configuration
a combination of 1-line and 2-line
system in conjunction with the appropriate display configuration for the drawing.

1-Line Display
You use 1-line displays for annotation of construction documents. The fittings and connections in a 1-line
pipe system display at their actual envelope dimensions. In-line and anchored components, such as valves,
also appear as scaled 1-line. MvParts are displayed as scaled 2-line.
In the following example, fittings, such as tees, elbows, and reducers, represent their actual envelope
dimensions. A gate valve and a check valve also appear as scaled 1-line components. The pump displays as
scaled 2-line.

Additional notes
Definition. You use Plan to display hidden lines
for MEP objects.
Uses the 2 Line Display Representation
While rise/drops are displayed in Basic 2-line,
hidden lines are not calculated. This display is
best suited when laying out designs if hidden
lines are not needed and in Model views to accur-
ately depict the 2 line representation of the ob-
jects.
Uses the Plan display representation for pipe ob-
jects and Plan Screened for other disciplines
This allows all objects that are not pipe-related
to be screened as background.
Uses Plan Display Rep for Mechanical and Plan
Screened for non-Mechanical
