Description of Command Function
This command deletes data objects within an object store container. The data objects to be deleted
are listed within the command entry. The "catalyst show" command entry can be used to obtain
a detailed list of data objects within an object store container when the label for the object store
container is included with this command. Refer to section 3.4.14 for details.

Command Object Requirements
The following objects listed below are required in the command entry after "catalyst del data":
OBJECT – This defines the object store container which contains the data objects to be deleted.
OBJECT is a text string label uniquely defining the object store container. The command
"catalyst show" can be used to obtain a detailed listing of object store containers within the
appliance. Refer to section 3.4.14 for details.
SETX – This defines the service set in which the object store container resides. This object is
required in the command entry when used on multi-node StoreOnce appliances. SETX is a
label which uniquely defines the service set. X represents a numeric index. The command entry
"catalyst show" can be used to obtain a detailed listing of object stores containers and the
associated service sets within the appliance. Refer to section 3.4.14 for details.
Command Parameter Requirements
The following parameter is required in the command entry and appear after the objects:
object – This parameter defines the data object or data objects which are to be deleted. If more
than one object is included, the objects are to be separated with whitespace. A detailed list of
data objects contained within an object store container can be obtained using the "catalyst show"
command provided a specific object store container is defined within the command entry. Refer
to section 3.4.9 for details.
The following "wildcards" can be used to define sets of data objects:
? — any single charater or numeral
* — string of any characters and numerals
[x,X] — a set of numbers or characters where x and X are the elements
[x-X] — a range of characters or numbers, where x and X are the beginning and end of the
range
Requirements for Command Execution
The command entry must conform to the command syntax.
The object store defined in the command entry must exist.
The service set, if defined in the command entry, must exist.
The object container must exist within the service set, if defined.
At least one data object conforming to the object parameter must exist.
Successful Command Output
Upon successful completion of the command entry, the following is displayed:
