Procedures Required for an AppleTalk Network

AppleTalk Network Settings (Macintosh)

Here is a summary of the procedures required to set the printer for use on an

AppleTalk network.

Connect the Network Cable

Follow the instructions in the Setup Guide to connect the network cable.

Setting a Macintosh

Confirm the network settings for the Macintosh.

Setting the Printer Protocols

Normally, the printer can be used with AppleTalk protocol without any changes. Use the Web

browser to select the name and zone settings after entering the IP address with the printer

operation panel.

Installing the Printer Driver

Install the Macintosh printer driver.

z Steps 1 and 3 above should be performed by the network system administrator.

z This section describes the printer connection to a Macintosh computer equipped

with a standard Ethernet port built in. If the printer is connected to an expansion

network interface board, be sure to select the name of the port.
