Troubleshooting Common Problems

This chapter describes some common problems encountered when
using HP ConfigTailor, and how to solve them.

CD-ROM Related Problems

The CD-ROM "AutoRun" feature does not work properly.
When the HP ConfigTailor CD-ROM is inserted in the CD-ROM drive,
the AutoRun feature should automatically launch the Welcome screen
on your default web browser. The Welcome screen provides a
description of HP ConfigTailor and a menu from which you can launch
tasks, view product features, open documents (such as this PDF book)
and directly access HP's ConfigTailor web site. The AutoRun feature is
therefore necessary to use HP ConfigTailor CD-ROM.
Sometimes, the AutoRun feature is disabled under Windows NT 4.0,
due to registry settings.
To enable AutoRun, make the following modifications in the registry:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVers
ion\Policies\Explorer
NoDriveTypeAutoRun = 0x00000095
HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVe

Then restart your computer.
