Adding Packages

In HP ConfigTailor 1.0, in order to add a new version of an existing
package (an updated version of an existing driver, for example), you
must remove the old version befor adding the new one. In HP
ConfigTailor 1.1, different versions of the same package can coexist in
the deployment database.
1 To add a new package to the database, click on Add.
2 In the Add Package window (shown below), specify the path of the
software package you wish to add. (If you do not know the path,
browse for the desired software package and select the Hpinfo.ini file
included in the package. Click Open. The Hpinfo.ini file and
pathname will be entered automatically.) Click Ok.
To add one of the latest drivers from the HP ConfigTailor support
web site:
a Download the driver (it will be in a compressed self-extracting
executable file) onto your hard drive.
b Extract the executable by double-clicking on the filename in
Windows NT Explorer, and note the folder in which the extracted
files were copied.
c Then, in the Add Package window, browse for the new driver's
Hpinfo.ini file in the folder in which the extracted files were
copied.
