If the copied image has any problem in quality, first check whether the problem is due to a scanner
failure or printer failure. Print out a test pattern by using the maintenance-mode function (Function
code 09 in Subsection 4.3.5) and check for the print quality.
If the printed test pattern has no problem, the scanner is faulty; if it has any problem, the printer is
faulty.

(2) All black
At the scanner
Check the following components:

- CIS units and their harnesses
- Relay PCB
- Main PCB
At the printer
Check the following components:
l
- Recording head power harness and signal harness
- Thermal recording head and its compression springs
- Main PCB
First check the printer-copyboard interface cable for
connection.
At the scanner
